This Minecraft beacon generator lays out the pyramid under a beacon, one tier at a time. Pick the level and the minerals, and see how many blocks and ingots you need, which powers it unlocks and how far the effect reaches. The Litematica file has the beacon on top. You can also put a second mineral on the top tier.
How the beacon pyramid works
A beacon only works on top of a pyramid of mineral blocks. The pyramid is made of square tiers: 3×3 right under the beacon, then 5×5, 7×7 and 9×9. The number of full tiers is the beacon's level, from 1 to 4.
Each level adds powers and range. To choose a power, open the beacon and pay one iron ingot, gold ingot, emerald, diamond or netherite ingot. The beam also needs a clear view of the sky: only see-through blocks such as glass may sit above it.
The beacon itself is crafted from five glass, three obsidian and a nether star. The star drops from the Wither, so the pyramid is often the easy part.

Which material should you use?
- Iron blocks are the usual choice. An iron farm makes the ingots while you do other things, and a full level 4 pyramid is well within reach.
- Gold blocks make sense next to a gold farm in the Nether. They look warm, and a gold farm needs no mining.
- Emerald blocks are for players with a villager trading hall. The green pyramid is a show-off piece.
- Diamond blocks cost a lot of mining. Most players use them only for the top 3×3 tier, where they show.
- Netherite blocks cost a huge amount of ancient debris. They exist mainly as a flex.
The beacon works the same whatever the pyramid is made of. The material only changes the cost and the look.
Beacon placement rules
- Full tiers only. A missing block in a tier drops the beacon to the level below.
- Centred. The beacon sits on the middle block of the 3×3 tier.
- Open sky. Opaque blocks above the beacon block the beam and switch it off. Glass lets it through, and stained glass colours the beam.
- Power choice. Choosing a power costs one ingot or gem each time you change it.
Where to build a beacon
Put it where you spend the most time: the middle of your base, your mining area for Haste, or your farm. The range is measured from the beacon, so the centre of the area you use gives the best cover. A level 4 beacon reaches 50 blocks out.
A beacon beam also works as a landmark. It shows from far away, so you can find your way home. Put coloured stained glass on top and each base gets its own beam colour.
Build the pyramid in the open, or dig it into the ground so only the top tier shows. The powers work either way, as long as nothing solid sits above the beacon. A buried pyramid is also safer from creepers and from other players on a server.

How many blocks do I need for a beacon pyramid?
Level 1 takes 9 blocks, level 2 34, level 3 83 and level 4 164, plus the beacon itself. Each block is 9 ingots, emeralds or diamonds, so a full pyramid is 1,476 of them.
What blocks can I use for a beacon base?
Iron, gold, emerald, diamond and netherite blocks. Nothing else counts, not even other mineral blocks like lapis or redstone.
What effects does each beacon level unlock?
Level 1: Speed or Haste. Level 2 adds Resistance and Jump Boost. Level 3 adds Strength. Level 4 adds a secondary power: Regeneration, or level II of the primary power you chose.
How big is the beacon effect range?
It grows with the level: 20, 30, 40, 50 blocks out from the beacon for levels 1 to 4.
What is the cheapest way to build a level 4 beacon?
Use iron blocks for the whole pyramid. An iron farm makes the ingots on its own, while diamonds and netherite have to be mined.
Can I mix block types in the beacon pyramid?
Yes. Any mix of the five minerals works, in any pattern. The Top layer option here puts a different mineral on the 3×3 tier, the classic iron-and-diamond look.
